John Graef, Ph.D., joined StrideBio in May 2020 as Director of Therapeutic Discovery. In this role, Dr. Graef supports the identification of disease targets, creation of cell models and assays, and establishment of in vitro and in vivo strategies to advance gene therapies from discovery to clinical development. Prior to StrideBio, Dr. Graef held Associate Director, Principal Scientist and Senior Research Investigator roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Fulcrum Therapeutics, where he helped focus on developing cell models and assays for disease modeling and testing potential therapeutics. He has previously led discovery programs for both neurodevelopmental (Fragile X Syndrome) and neurodegenerative (Parkinson’s Disease) disorders, as well as cardiomyopathy indications. Dr. Graef holds a Ph.D in Neuroscience from Wake Forest University, and a B.A. in Zoology and Neuroscience from Miami University.
